Press Release: RISC OS South-East is only a week away

    Saturday, October 11, 2008 - 11:16 AM, (6039 Reads)

Next Saturday is the RISC OS South East Show, having become a regular slot in the RISC OS callendar, the show is at the usual venue of Guildford College and we can look forward to a packed event. The opening times are 18th October 10am - 4pm. Despite the recent news about Castle / Iyonix Ltd withdrawing from the market, there is still much to be positive about. This is a chance for RISC OS users, past and present, to re-unite with one common goal - the progression of RISC OS and its applications and accessories.

Just as Risc PC users have their machines long after Acorn withdrew from development, Iyonix users still have their machines, and support for those should still be available via dealers and Iyonix web site / email according to the announcement made. The A9Home is still available as a native ARM based RISC OS computer, Virtual Acorn's Virtual RiscPc is available for both Windows and Mac OS.

New software releases will be launched at the show, the latest magazines will be out and available for purchase / subscription. There will be a number of show theatre talks.

Hopefully we'll get to see the latest developments at RISCOS Ltd. and RISC OS Open Ltd.

Obviously there will be many of the usual developers present with their
    latest offerings also.

    Show press release below:

RISC OS South-East is only a week away.

The show is again organised by SASAUG in conjuction with Fillin Ltd.
It will be held, once more, in the main hall of Guildford College, Stoke Road. The show is on Saturday 18 October and will run from 10am until 4 pm.

Two themes highlight this year's show. Magazines and Presentations. You can renew your subscriptions for Archive, Qercus, RISC OS Now, RISC World (on APDL stand) and Eureka, the ARM Club magazine.

Theatre presentations, with your chance to provide feedback, include:
John Cartmell (Qercus) "The New Edition of Qercus and Ideas for the Future".
Steve Revill (RISC OS Open) "Shared Source Project Progress".
Paul Middleton (RISC OS Ltd) "RISC OS 6 and Beyond".
Martin Wuethner (MW Software) Latest Versions of ArtWorks and Techwriter
(and ask him about Postscipt printers!).
Steve Revill (7th Software) MoreDesk and Other Products.
Louie Smith (RISC OS Now) RISC OS Now, Today and Tomorrow.

Make sure you visit, and spend money, with The ARM Club, APDL, CJE Micro's, RComp, RISC OS (sic) Ltd, Orpheus Internet Services, MW Software and RISC OS Open.

Your pockets are sure to be lighter after picking up bargains on the charity stand.

Then there are the village stands of NetSurf, RISC OS Packaging Project and Steve Fryatt all vying for your attention (and, you've guessed it, money)

Sounds like another great show. Visit the show site
